NZEST acknowledges the generosity of -

•  Renaissance Ltd, Auckland – 2 scholarships

Since 1993 Renaissance and its forerunner, Apple Computer, have provided computing and printing equipment for NZEST. The latest iMac was installed in August this year and the executive officer reports that it is a joy to sit at the new big screen!

Renaissance Ltd has announced it will sponsor two scholarships each year – this is most generous and is applauded by the NZEST Trustees.

Paul Johnston, Managing Director of Renaissance Ltd -
“Renaissance is delighted to be involved with NZEST in awarding scholarships to talented New Zealand students. All the students have worked incredibly hard and have shown real determination to succeed. With this kind of dedication, these young people will most likely have a very positive influence on the future of this country.  We believe our scholarships go someway in rewarding their efforts.”

•  NZ Funds Management Ltd – 1 scholarship

Since 1994 NZ Funds Management Ltd has invested and managed the NZEST Trust Fund at no cost to NZEST which is a truly remarkable sponsorship.   Under their superb stewardship, the Trust Fund has returned excellent results which enables NZEST to run its scholarship programme.

•  WHK Gosling Chapman – Auditors

NZEST would like to acknowledge the contribution of WHK Gosling Chapman who provide free auditing services each year.  As a Trust it is vital to have accounts well audited and NZEST is very grateful for the sponsorship of WHK Gosling Chapman.

•  Aurora Energy Ltd, Dunedin – 2 Otago
    Scholarships

Since 1996 Aurora Energy, previously as Dunedin Electricity, has sponsored Otago students – a great investment in education in Otago.

In 2006 Aurora Energy Ltd, Dunedin, increased the number of scholarships it awards to Otago students to two, one scholarship for a Dunedin based student, the other for a student studying at a Central Otago school. Both recipients must attend the University of Otago.

Interviews were held in Dunedin on April 2, and the panel agreed that the applicants were all outstanding. NZEST organises the Aurora Energy scholarship programme, and the interviewing panel was chaired by Mike Farrell, from NZEST in Auckland.
